I have a mate who sends me bits and pieces from the Real Climate web site most weeks. He is similar to Bolter, Akerman and Milne in that he is unable to hear or to respond rationally to argument contrary to his own position.

Also like the above three, he is reasonably sane in other regards and is, in small doses, good company.

However, on a program such as The Insiders, he, too, would be a waste of space and an unnecessary distraction.

Jossy, I agree with you.

I love the way Bolt is usually teamed with David Mair, no love lost between those two. Was a treat yesterday to see Bolt throw the floor into chaos with his claim the BBC had said global warming doesn't exist. Host Cassidy quickly told the Bolter to get off the subject, before he could bore us to distraction with another of his outlandish discources. Mair was so beside himself he buried his head in a newspaper while Annabelle Crabbe just looked at Bolt with a look of sheer disbelief. Unrehearsed comedy, of course Bolt was being his usual idiotic self, knowing damn well the reaction he would get. Agree with Jossy, the selection of media reps from the right leave a lot to be desired. Bolt, Milne (yuk), the unsmiling head of the Sydney Inst., and the bloated toad Akerman, who does ensure the change channel button is employed when he appears. Hardly an outstanding representation of the right wing 4th estate.

"I can’t wait until his next Insider’s appearance."

I can. Surely the ABC can find better "insiders" from the right side of politics than the likes of Bolt.
