I’m not sure which is worse.
An early salami warning system, or….
    Eewww….. eating a devon sandwich.

Never mind, in a unanimous decision,
the judges have declared FDOTM today’s winner of the hilarious heartless bastard award. Well done and keep up the good work. :-) :-)

Thanks, I’ve been looking for one of these for ages

This topic was never going to be funny, and a meta analysis of why it’s not funny isn’t really very funny either. Maybe a joke about why God has no sense of humour killing little children and innocent folks generally might cut it in the gallows sense.

I’m wondering whether you might cultivate a parallel project utilising your serious real politik skills, to stay hearty and fresh, change as good as a holiday. Speaking of which even Moir takes them. Ah, managing success, a high class problem.

I watched the Man in the Moon movie recently with Jim Carey as Andy Kaufmann. Really very good. Sad. Good. Sad …

:) :) Ooohh, I don’t know. I think I’m quite happy to be a heartless bastard as long as I keep getting my daily ration of First Dog! Olé, olé, olé. :) :) :)

PPS: After howling with laughter I looked for your first blog on the moon. the search yields an awful lot of stuff, but not your interesting input. Where have I made an error.

    Cheers, V.

Well somebody has to say it…………………as best I can read it (and please send me the S. Rushdie Award should I live to receive it)…………”I was woken up by the Early Warning Salami System..It was too late. My Mother-In -Law drowned while eating a Devon sandwich (capital D you naughty First Dog….that dreadfully awful processed meat originated in Devon UK. And they can keep it.If you’re not careful you cop more outrage at that omission than for your naughty joke.)

Seriously - at a trial subscriber - this is my first post - if you (FDM), Rundle, Keane and that Possum guy amongst others keep up the good work I’ll be a full subscriber at the end of my trial……………unless I get sent to the gallows. Pip pip!

Tom doesn’t get it. This was a serious and profound comment on the way we see world events. Even in today’s Crikey I read: ‘The Samoa tsunami killed at least 100 people early this morning … At least seven Australians have been reported as being treated for injuries, none of which are understood to have been life-threatening.’

Lots of good stuff (but so far, still no photos of my cats *sob*).

MOIRA SMITH: Thanks for the info.
Your cats will have their fifteen minutes of fame. Walnut did, back end and front end.

Re Your TOM DOESN’T GET IT. That’s just it. He never does get it. I’m sure he’s a V nice person, but he just doesn’t bloody get it.

    Cheers

Thanks Venise, for nice comments. Yes ‘back end and front end’ - I bet! in true FD style. Still, fifteen (or even five) minutes of that sort of fame is better than nothing … IMHO … in my boring life … (maybe even in my cats’ boring lives but I often suspect their lives are a lot more interesting than mine).

PS he is objecting to one of my 3 cats for not being biological (ie, fake fur, stuffed toy instead). I think this is blatant discrimination. I’ll keep emailing him until he makes a rude joke about one at least of my cats or …. Oh dear I’ve only just renewed my subscription for a WHOLE YEAR.

Hehehe Moira :) :) . Actually it was my fault. Walnut has a magnificent tail and I got a shot of her framed, or back-lit and he was right to use it.
Hang in there re the stuffed toy, but I’d include the real cats as well. My feelings are amazingly similar to yours.

    Cheers

    Venise :) :) :)
