This deal almost seems noteworthy-less in the context of a company (Huawei) generating US$15b+ in revenue per annum, and who already has relationships with both Optus and Telstra, and BT in the UK (though contentious).

“It is supposed to be privately owned, but there are no such companies in China.”

So if an individual (either a local or a foreigner) registers a company in China and is the owner of the share capital, and its not privately owned, then what is it exactly?

This article doesn't really make much sense. I can read a sentence and another sentence and then another, and that's about it. I mean, they all vaguely connect to some deal concerning an Australian businessman and a Chinese government shop-front, but there doesn't appear to be a story.

Would anyone care to provide a précis or a punch line?
