A speaker of substance would enforce relevance, but they are all spineless LibLab party hacks. Yes I do mean you Mr Speaker.

Why would anyone's microphone but the one asking the question or providing the answer be active at any one time?

Isn't this whole debacle a question of tit for tat? Ok the Rudd Govts answers are longer when the two leaders take the floor, but these same two put up with merciless bagging from the Howard front bench for 12 years during QT. Is it any wonder after a mere 18 months it is all verbal systems go. There is a heap of frustration to be let out and Gillard in particular is so far ahead of Bishop and Pyne she is having a ball. Its obvious she arrives at QT extremely well briefed, does her homework and excells when interjections fly from the hapless rabble on the Opposition side. I doubt the grumpy moans and complaints from the Libs will make any impression on the Govt for a while yet. Incidently Howards yes/no answers were a very good tactic for him, if he didnt have the information requested or didnt want to answer a question. So all in all what was good for the goose etc certainly seems to apply here. Plus what is funnier than seeing Pyne make an ass of himself? He does the Opposition cause no good at all. Make that Pyne/Abbott/Bishop/Hockey etc etc
