I can't believe your attitudes. This was bound to happen after over 40 years of allowing the thuggery of Indonesia(first via the dictator Soharto who murdered maybe 3 million of his people) to go unabated. We scream at other countries dictatorial actions, but have remained silent most of the last 40 years. Our Ambassador (Gilchrist?)to Indonesia in the mid 60's conspired with the US (CIA) who gave names to the death squads, that resulted in the murder of those on the list. I wonder how the Aussie holiday makers in Bali would react if they knew of the numbers of bodies they 'walk' on every day. The ramifications of those actions have resulted in the obscene wealth of some, while too many citizens in Indonesia are still being exploited and left to starve; thanks to the sweat shops like Nike etc. With corporate america, the country's wealth was carved up to multinationals of mainly the US and Britain! I'm still not convinced that the Indonesian military/police weren't involved in the Bali bombings! Over 180,000 East Timor lives obviously aren't important! 5 Australians are expendable it would seem! Their families understandably don't agree, and nor do I!
