I think it's drawing a very long bow to describe Concetta Fierravanti-Wells as 'the Liberal Party of the future'. She and Sophie Mirabella are part of a small group that are even more right-wing than say Tony Abbott or Eric Abetz. I note that the Liberal Party did not call for a vote on the detention debt bill in the House of Representatives. It was only in the Senate where the bill was actively opposed. This different response to the same issue reflects that the party is going through a period of transition, slowly moving away from the views of Concetta Fierravanti-Wells, but not going straight to the views of Judith Troeth. I personally regret that the bill was opposed and I am hoping that the party will get to a more reasonable position somehow, as difficult as it seems at the moment. Fierravanti-Wells is a far right conservative. I didn't know she still had a job, as I've hardly heard her utter a word since she lost govt - not that I miss her grating and ugly tongue! Her loud mouthed collegue Fierravanti-Wells, who obviously has ambitions to be another witless, imbocilic dipstick, so plentiful in the Coalition, contributed nothing of consequence or intelligence to the debate. Frankly she would have been of more use, visiting some of the unfortunates whose lives were wrecked by her former boss Howard, as they suffer from years being locked behind barbed wire.
