"the exchange has now become a hit on the French internet."

How do I get onto this so-called 'French internet'? Sounds fascinating!

Rudd's appeared to be the enthusiasm of the very recent but still not very well informed convert. That scarf looked like it had come out of the plastic only a few hours earlier. The AFL supporter's guise looked to be the latest he had superficially donned for political reasons, but an experience like that last quarter is liable to have made it genuine.

Following in the great sporting tradition

I had the great pleasure of attending the Brisbane v Carlton Aussie rules game at the Gabba on Saturday nite. One of the advantages of attending events live is that one's attention isn't directed by the tv and I doubt many at the ground paid much attention to Rudd except when the game had finished and Rudd made a greater spectacle of himself than what was then happening on the main arena.

I don't know whether the tv showed it, but I was at the Stanley Street end and saw the big almost full moon rise over the Vulture Street end as the Blues' star fell.

The Lions have no hope against the Doggies next week, but.

I very much doubt that AFL President Mike Fitzpatrick was "a bit perplexed". He is a former Carlton captain and doubtless was feeling despondent at his team's predictable fadeout
