(((((The Age but I’ve migrated online even if most of my generation hasn’t.)))))

Huhh???...I hardly know anyone who reads a "filtered view" newspaper these days.

Anyway, I never Miss the Age. I never read it, so I never Miss it. ..LOL!!!

I think the Age are spending too much time fiddling with their formats, and not enough time thinking about the content. What is the content we are all going to pay for when we can get the up-to-the-minute news free on the net?

The Age is stuffed full of lift-outs that I wearily extract and throw in the bin because of their vapid content.

Focus on the main game, guys!

Mr Farnsworth I envy you the leisurely train ride on which you have room to fold a broadsheet and still turn the pages. Format and public transport are the only reasons I ever read a tabloid. Commuting is the one time in people's day when they have nothing else to do and no internet.

Rather than leading, The Age now follows.......and who does it follow? Focus groups. How sad. It seems to me that The Age's problems have been exacerbated by its subtle transformation into a Sydney paper pretending to be a Melbourne one. So much of the text and so many of the managerial decisions come from Sydney now, most of the supplements follow Sydney formulae, and all to serve the ambitions of the empire-builders at Sydney's Fairfax HQ. That awful "aspirational", look-at-me, dumbed down, botox and brazilian culture of Australia's Los Angeles rules completely. It's very sad to watch. Melbourne is NOT Sydney, and the assumption that Sydney's culture is Melbourne's culture is a pathway to newspaper oblivion.
