Come on guys. They won’t sack him and they won’t drop him as captain and leave him in the team. He doesn’t have much of a say in selection in my understanding either. Australia mostly lost because of 2 collapses, which can’t really be slated on the captain. It’ll be 5-nil in the return bout in Australia.

Bottom line, England won. They used the talents they had far better than Australia did. Remember Ponting has a say in team selection. I still do not regard Ponting as a good captain. His ability with the bat is well demonstrated, but he has had a problem with player control, his tactics often appear strange, not thought out and more often than not predictable. Use of his bowlers odd. Another problem is his lack of personality. He comes accross as lacking in humour, staid, unsmiling, dour, often grumpy. His after match comments, come out in one line monotones.
Leave him in as no 3 in the order but its time to find another captain.

I give Ricky until AFL grand final week as then the Cricket Australia can bury it. Or perhaps Melbourne cup day or is that reserved for unwanted policy?
