Where is the research on the use of relatively slow-burning trees as windbreaks and therefore fire protection? For example, for the upper and middle storey, many of the grey foliage wattles are slow-burning; for the lower storey there are saltbushes and many other plants. Much as I love eucalypts, they evolved with fire and they need fire. We need to think of other trees for public areas.
