You defend the complete waste of space ‘arts’ at every opportunity and laud public funding for their drug habits.

Miranda Devine's support for climate change denialists is not the only fantasy land she lives in. In the same article she claims the scientific method of the past 1000 years (excluding the Vatican's persecution of Galileo as you note) was of (to paraphrase) "open inquiry, of encouraging the objective search for truth, sharing knowledge, testing hypotheses, and welcoming challenges in order to test the robustness of theories".
Such an approach cannot be said to predominate in the mainstream press which has made its mark in the systematic promotion of unscientific theories and the active suppression of "robust" debate.
Two brief examples. In April 2009 8 eminent scientists published a peer reviewed paper in the Open Journal of Chemistry and Physics showing conclusively that highly sophisticated military grade explosives were used to demolish World Trade Centres 1, 2 and 7. Of this hugely important paper with major implications there has been a stunning silence from the mainstream media.
A second example is the lamentable Philip Adams' column in last Saturday's Weekend Australian Magazine in which he referred to President Kennedy being killed by Lee Harvey Oswald. That any serious journalist that claims at least to be somewhat informed this is an appallingly ignorant statement, yet one that is fully in line with the misinformation that has been fed to the public by the mainstream press for more than 45 years.
So don't be too harsh on Ms Devine. She is simply carrying on a long established tradition in the Australian press.

Really sick and tired of Crikey attacking anything related to motorsport.

You defend the complete waste of space 'arts' at every opportunity and laud public funding for their drug habits.

But anything with an engine, well that just has to be really, really bad, evil and corrupt....

It's getting quite pathetic.
