I'm soooo amused by the huffing and puffing about what DAB radio will do for listeners. Australia's radio industry has very little left in the way of original thinking. AM stations mostly talk / shout the opinions of their shock/ jocks (minor exceptions here). FM stations, the last great hope of the radio industry from the early 1980's, now all do the same thing. Where is the diversity? Where are the stations that could make a reasonable living from niche programming with jazz or good quality adult rock music - not an oldies '60's,70's, 80's station? Where is the FM music station that combines good music with a decent news service? Where is the radio station that allows its listeners to be entertained and informed? Sorry Commercial Radio Australia, DAB won't do it for me. My trusty MP3 player looks like continuing to be my primary source of entertainment. Dear Crikey,
