Is this reminding anybody else of the arrests in England that proved to be pr for the anti-terror unit?

Perhaps Mr Overland is just upset that he didn’t leak it to his mates at the age and get his laudatory appearance with Neil?

When I worked 2 years night shift reader analyst in Cleveland St Surry Hills Sydney not so far from the Holt St Harlot, but a long way from the their printing office out western suburbs way, the second editions which we did for both Herald and News Corp papers would hit the deck about oh 5 or 6 am at the earliest.

This is not very scientific but it gives you a gist. By the way if you like newspaper wonkiness, look for the 1 or 2 etc in miniscule lettering on the margin somewhere. It also explains sometimes how the country and city versions sometimes carry different coverage. Always annoying for a land use obsessive like me.

My personal favourite fatuous quote was “it was POTENTIALLY the worst terrorist death toll(*see below) in Australia, IF it had been carried out…”
* the only other ‘terrorist attack’ was the Hilton bomb in the 70s, now universally regarded as ASIO/ASIS idiocy, supposedly not intended to go off, in their quest for more resources.
If the MOON fell to Earth it would be the worst IMPACT ever if it HAPPENED.
Why am I not utterly trusting of the Keystone Kops, with or without Keelty?
As for those overfunded, underworked Cold War holdovers (hangovers?) in the alphabet soup agencies, puhleeez.

What the police should be doing is finding out who within their ranks tipped off the press to an ongoing investigation. That person should then be stripped of their pension and thrown into a cell for a very very long time.

Anyone over the age of 15 who still is surprised over the Murdoch press and the co-called journalists it employs is just plain stupid! I suppose they want to be thanked for not putting lives at risk - they were soooooooo responsible? Now they have another excuse for beating up non-Ango people - not that that’s stopped them in the past. I wouldn’t even wrap my fish & chips in their garbage - it’d sour the fish!

Am I wrong in my understanding that Cameron Stewart is some kind of journalist-cum-ASIO frontman? And, having a couple of years ago witnessed the Victoria police bashing of an innocent Somalian man (also witnessed by about a dozen nonchalant, bystanding Victorian police men and women), why do I have no confidence in Victoria Police’s involvement in investigating Somalian “terrorists”? Treat this story as a pure beat-up, unless and until some element of reliable evidence makes an appearance — and it hasn’t yet.

Ho - Hum another terror raid. It is great media excitement. Shock jock radio is falling over itself with revelations of ah well.. supposition. 400 coppers banging on doors at 4am. Terrorist Taxi drivers seen in many varied locations oooh waaaah- fancy that.

Remember the previous terror raids- Indonesian/South East Asian then Iranian then Srilankan. Ah well if you haven’t got the real thing- what can you do but phone the Oz and invite them to the party. ASIO and AFP slugging it out for relevance and funding as usual.

Sorry but Oz terrorism is just sooooo over the top.
