The "unaccountable", for national security/financial-in-confidence/beyond your grasp etc reasons, will inevitably become the "unacceptable/illegal/immoral" without the antiseptic of owygen/publicity.
"Power tends to corrupt, absolute power (eg SECRECY) tends to corrupt absolutely" , including all it touches.

What I tell ya "straight out of the movies" as per my pithy (!) comment yesterday re Treadstone and Bourne movie franchise.

Meaning a hit squad covert/black operation beyond senate/Congress commitee oversight.

Leave out the medical/robotic/brainwashing element in the Bourne script and you've got your assassins from Uncle Sam.

The thing is, with Bob Baer ex CIA consulting on Syriana etc, one gets the feeling Hollywood has a skeric of reality in alot of their stuff.

Now what was that job Robert Redford had in 3 Days of the Condor - scan reading popular culture for intelligence gathering. Mmm. Very entertaining. Can't wait for 3 Days of the Featherduster staring Dick Clooney and George Cheney.

I'd like to see both George W and Cheney charged with war crimes. I'd like to see them charged for lying over many instances while they were in charge, going back to the 2000 Election. Then there's the so-called evidence they gave over 9/11 - both together and not under oath???Right! There's at least 100 anomolies over what really happened on 9/11; how 'evidence' was compiled over WMD's; the real reason for invading Afghanistan & Iraq; the PATRIOT Act; renditions; using other countries airspace to move s0-called "enemy combatants" etc.

I think that Cheney was more despicable than Bush (which says a lot?). I'm hoping that justice may catch up with both of them one day - but I'm not holding my breath?
Oh yes, I'd like Blair and Howard added to that list???
