The petty peevishness of “they scooped us” is widespread and ill serves public discourse.
In the case of the Customs’ whistleblower case the SMH editor, when fronted by the three columnists (who had written on it) on the TOTAL failure of the SMH to even do reportage, were told (separately and en masse) that “it’s the Oz story”.
Small wonder the bien pissants of Sydney barely noticed.
