The lemon sucking Devine should be looking nervously over her shoulder. Crabb has such a delicate touch, and has the ability to make her point effectively and humorously, unlike the steamrolling approach of the SMH conservatives.

At last. Hallelujah. Whatever. Devine, Henderson et al – tedious lemon-lipped weasels whose bylines mean I simply skip to the next page, or to the next website. But it’s not their fault, really, it’s the primeval sludge known as “Fairfax management” that’s really to blame. Roll on evolution.

Crabb Apple was funny and meaningful, quite right, though I think she under rates the poisonous jealousy of anything Melbourne for the locus of political power that is Sydney, or even further north in Brisbane. Methinks Bolter has to make do, Costello’s retreat being the pivot of his wandering affection?
