Good to see alma mater ANU in the ezine again, reminds me of paleontology A01 back in the day.

As a zoology grad, rusty lawyer and ex politician and try hard media watcher all I can say is I am feeling better every day on my survivalist kick - from learning about fuses and polarity on deep cycle battery systems, calculating wattage on volts and amp hours, and pulling car radios and 12v dc inputs out of old car wrecks, bodgy solar thermal baths and safe chimney installation on rusty old wood heater.

God have mercy when and if the Tipping Point(s) arrive. To borrow a metaphor from Orwell's Animal Farm - the jaded cynical nihilist donkey was vindicated in its four legged prejudice .... sadly.

Andrew has done it again, giving us:
* opinion (from the Copenhagen consensus)
* selective examples of regional effects
* ad hominem attacks on evil people like myself who don't roll over and accept he is right.

None of the above is objective evidence that CO2 is to blame for the rise in temperature in the late 20th century, which by the way is a continuation of a trend that began well before CO2 emissions became significant (around the 1940s, when global temperatures actually moderated for a period).

How does this all fit with the latest satellite readings, which show that global troposphere temps are about 0.01% above the baseline?

For the record I for one do not speak for fossil fuel vested interests, I don't think I'm a 'rupture-welcoming fundamentalist' (but I'm not sure what that means), and I'm definitely not a right-wing ideologue.

Some of us would just like to see a bit more clear thinking and less scare-mongering from Andrew and his friends.
