While there is probably no-one on the planet who could match Obama's famed poise it is worth aiming for. Rudd generally comes across as serious but the poise and dignity that he seeks is only partially achieved. Gillard's poise has been much noted but she is too frequently in attack mode to achieve Obama's level of dignity. Turnbull's leadership has been one long pretence and it shows. His natural inclination is to be a patrician small-l liberal but instead he pretends to be a populist opportunist trotting out hackneyed Liberal scare campaigns. Andrew Robb is the only senior Liberal I have seen who comes across with much genuine dignity. This is an excellent point.
