Dez

The last time referred to the last of his tours that take up 9 months of the year. He did not renege and appeared later in small tours and short event type tours.

Unfortunately the lazy comedians in this country couldn't pass up a dig at an icon and parrots like you have kept this idiocy going.

I nominate Will "obvious one" Anderson and his ilk(Dave Hughes, Woodley(last time he caught a bus?)) You know the type of one note arts student comic beloved by the media in this country because they have as little to say as themselves.

I know its against the arts student mentality of entertainment in this country that Nick Cave may be our greatest crooner but most of his output is junkie private school tripe. If I hear another twenty year old tell me how great the birthday party were then i will cry. There's a reason that they starved in St Kilda and starved in London and its not because they were ahead of their time...

I could also include the Triffids but I think that David Mccomb was always more aware and less lost up himself than Mr Cave or any of his delusionary adulatory fans

I can't believe no one has mentioned Bono yet?

I agree with James Frost regarding Steely Dan... Their second wind was courtesy of a couple of hiphop artists sampling them, who they then turned around and sued, if I have my information correct.

Jimmy Barnes, Burt Newton, Matthew Newton (the little poonce) and all still-living members of This Is Serious Mum. Perhaps THEN Australia will appreciate the mammoth cultural legacy they have created for us. TISM, that is.

I reckon there's a Special Edition of 20-to-1 in this ...

I have to agree with Mr Rundle's choices, and presume he is not looking forward to the Stones "Steel Wheelchair" tour of 2019 or Bruce Springsteen's "Bland on Bland" double CD release with bonus DVD that includes a songwriting master class? My nomination is John Farnham - unAustralian as it is, I wonder when will it actually "be the last time"?

ooh, there will be letters.

I look forward to watching you surf the Chaser-style wave of opprobium heading your way.

I assume from the tone of your piece that bad taste is encouraged, so my own nominee for Celebrity Death Wish would be Chris Martin, preferably in a dismembering car crash, alongside Gwyneth, with Brad and Angelina in the back seat, and Jennifer locked in the trunk.

I just can't,
I just can't,
I just can't control my heartbeat.
