Vanstone on the hunt for the dog leaker
|
Not content with owning a famous attack dog, it seems Amanda Vanstone has become one herself. Crikey has been reliably informed that our publicity conscious Ambassador to Italy was recently on leave in Australia where Her Excellency spent many hours badgering Immigration officials for the names of any Roman policemen or women who had visited Australia in the past six months. It would appear Amanda can’t let go of the story we shared with our readers about her dog, Gus, and his unruly behaviour towards the Roman police and a foreign envoy paying our ambassador an official visit. Back in March, Crikey reported that Amanda Vanstone’s beautiful weimaraner, a hound who answers to the name of Gus, bit Pakistan’s ambassador to Italy, Ms Tasnim Aslam, when she arrived at Casa Australia to make an official call:
But her newfound role as a latter day Sherlock Holmes doesn’t stop there — her hapless cook and driver were grilled, we understand, by Commonwealth cops attached to the Rome Embassy in what was a useless attempt to find who leaked the information, which, incidentally, has never been denied. It must be true for two reasons — it appeared first in Crikey and was then picked up and used, but not attributed, by the Murdoch Sunday newspapers.

Alas poor Gus.
Is there no end to the indignity and the shame of his appalling Roman holiday.
Will those wankers on the intertubes not let him rest in peace?
Hmm……Obviously not!!

Are we actually talking about woof woof Gus or snarling snappy Amanda. Perhaps there has been a mixup in animals
Surely our intrepid Ambassador is not just laying a trail of doo doo, to ensure there is a slip up, she does possess a great pair of fangs.
DavidI. There may be a way to sort out which one is the nasty snappy dog. The Weimaranas I’ve met are elegant creatures, intelligent and not given to being overly fat:). Can we say the same about the dog called Amanda?
woof woof Venise, dont think it is Gus eating pizza and slurpingvino
Lets hope Gus lazed by the pool, dug up the garden and revelled in affection from everyone speaking his own language when she went on leave. I bet he’s a loveable pooch acting as we did when Amanda and the Howardites ran the House of hard knocks. Sympathies Gus.
Dear Gus, In Crikey.com.au you have a small group of fans. We are keen to ensure your life style is befitting a pooch of such immaculate breeding. And we hope the ponderous one doesn’t slip you any of her tit-bits.
