Queue-jumping is frowned upon in normal life situations.  How come we accept circumstances where money allows 
some people to queue--jump (irrespective of their actual health needs), whereas the poor (with their high health care needs) are forced to wait and suffer?


This state of affairs makes some of us ashamed. It is not compatible with good human values.

		<description>Does anyone have statistics for elective surgery waiting times for private hospitals? The Government does not publish them like they do for public hospitals (http://www.aihw.gov.au/publications/index.cfm/title/10776).

The private health industry promote lower waiting times.. but where is the evidence?  There is no way to know if we are getting what we pay for.</description>
