Ross Stapleton: whoa, back up, Sparky, and get your facts straight. Lance Armstrong didn't sue Greg Lemond. Greg Lemon, I mean Lemond, sued Lance Armstrong. Trek was supposedly the main defendant in that suit, but from all indications, it was Armstrong Greg was truly after. You should read Greg's legal brief to Trek (all 200 plus pages). A good half of it is a rant against his version of public enemy #1, Lance Armstrong. It is possible Armstrong has countersued, I don't know. The mediation of this lawsuit is supposed to be sometime this week. Dispite having no actual proof of Armstrong having used drugs to win any of his races, Greg insists on Lance's guilt. Greg's "evidence" in the suit is actually quotes from that book printed in France, The Secrets of Lance Armstrong. Yes. Really. (You used to be able to read the whole thing on the Trek website, but no longer.) What proving Lance has doped has to do with his troubles with Trek is obscure to all but Greg and the logically challenged, but that never slowed Lemond down. Enjoyed your column in spite of the odd use of semi-colons, and hope to read more.

I don't really care if they're on drugs. It's part of the fun, really. Can't wait!

Hi Ross, that item was a nice aperitif for the Tour - which I"m really looking forward to. I so hope Cadel can get the support that he needs and deserves this time - last year was such a heartbreaker, seeing him manfully taking on those mountain stages, so often alone.
Your writing is quite dense (not a complaint!). I just got distracted though by the use of semi-colons instead of commas in the long sentences - made it bit hard to follow - is there a reason?
cheers
