What’s the point of this? If you want some good commentary of unemployment head over to the Pollytics blog. The ‘anecdotal evidence’ presented above has little use for anyone. You could have compiled a similar set of stories at the peak of the boom if you tried hard enough.

Timber giant Carter Holt Harvey closed its Dartmoor sawmill in Victoria late last year, with 130 workers given the chop, while 30 workers were sacked at nearby Myrtleford….

Aren’t Myrtleford and Dartmoor about 400km apart ‘as the raven flies’? Hardly nearby! KS
