Everyone knows that the AFL and its various state versions are focussed on equal opportunities... look at that poor bastard in Victoria who was essentially accused of being a paed***le by that nut case moron fool from the beyond blue mob... what was his name? Oh yes, Kennet. Wasn't he in Vic politics at one stage. (Mind you he was a liberal at the time so it shouldn't be a surprise. When we are really serious about equality, people like him will be kept out of site of proper people so the rest of us don't have to worry about what he may think of us. Oh Pat, leave it out. The reality is that sports minister Ellis will pander to the bozos who support sport. The demographic is dense Australian men. How ironic that homophobes blindly support men. But only snowy white, allegedly straight ones. Sports addiction is a sad, manufactured Australian cultural marker that really needs to disappear as our country matures. Its money and myopia ensure it won't. Bread, circuses (oh - and bash poofs) are the staples that manifest themselves in day to day oppression of anyone who doesn't fit the mindless mysogynist homophobe mould. Look around. The media treats women's sport with contempt, with a very few notable exceptions. The boneheads get oxygen in the likes of the Footy Show. Team sports and gang bangs become inextricable and the bozo industry bleats about 'the poor families who had to go through the ordeal'. But hey, sport's good for kids, isn't it? Especially SSAY ones.
