Yes, so do Westfield Belconnen. Nevertheless, the article has merit, in that it is in the interests of the shops for you to stay longer and spend money there. Westfield doesn’t however, represent the shops, but the owner of the shopping centre and land. They don’t care about anything but maximising the return from the centre.

Does it matter for the main thrust of the article whether it is Cheltenham or Moorabin, which are only a few km apart anyway?

Please get your facts right. The shopping centre known as Southland, is in Cheltenham, not Moorabbin, which is actually a few klms north.
