Re: "Go Souths". As a Souths supporter Ed Szabo should realise Souths didn't successfully challenge the the validity of News Limiteds decision to exclude them. The High Court ultimately found in News Limiteds favour. Read & weep here: http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/journals/JCULRev/2003/6.html#Heading81. Unfortunately this was grossly underreported in comparison to the Federal Court appeal where, as a result, Souths were reinstated. Just like the Federal Court decision, however, this decision held no sway over over whether Souths should or shouldn't be reinstated, it merely determined that the original decision to exclude them was correct. The fact that the NRL reinstated Souths after the Fed Court when they didn't have to, but "chose not to go there" and look at kicking them out after the High Court decision just diminishes their credibility. The real victims of this saga are St George, Illawarra, Balmain, Wests and most tragically Norths. The supporters lost to the game from their shafting far outway the chanting rally supporters who, at the time of the Fed Court win to Souths, backed the NRL into a perceived public relations nightmare had they not reinstated them.
