Guy - the Holy Grail is where Liberals and Journo’s drink - the working people go to Filthy’s three doors up and enjoy a local brew at pub prices.

You may recall that the Grail was named a while ago over “problems” with staff payments under Work Choices, hence the Labor staff initiated boycott.

PS. I once made the mistake of having a few drinks with Bob Ellis at a similar drinking establishment and I’m still regretting it. His fascination with a bottle of red wine and Bronywn Bishop’s love life should have carried a health warning. You’re just lucky he didn’t take you over to her place, Matthew Johns style ….

I take umbrage to this line:
‘… the Holy Grail is the Canberra gulley trap towards which the entire personnel of the city eventually swirls.’

Like many who work there, Guy falls into the trap of thinking that the entire personnel of the city of Canberra equals the entire personnel of Parliament House.

As the Holy Grail is a known haunt of politicians, advisers, journos and their ilk, most locals avoid it like the plague.
