The 30% rebate and subsequent Lifetime Health Cover policy reversed the trend and increased particiation to 45% by mostly older Australians. Bernard Keane blithely assert that this was "one of the Howard Government’s worst policies" without bothering any substantiation as if 'twere unassailable and self evident fact. If this was one of "Howard's worst" you have no profound criticism of the man or his government at all. Perhaps Bernard could have better represented the vicious 'marxist socialist' ideology of Guy Rundle & Co. than the man himself on Q&A last night?
