Ross, your assumption that packing more games into a season will increase revenue for all is a bit crude.

How many of those extra games (i.e. GC's or Western Sydney's away games) will be held at three-quarters empty Etihad stadium, where the home teams there need to just about fill the place up to break even?

As a West Coast supporter, I'm ever grateful that the VFL took the step in 1986 to start up some more clubs outside of Victoria, but surely there's a limit somewhere?

Personally, I think the AFL is building an extension on the house while the plumbing in the kitchen is falling apart.

Dear Ross the only bloke kidding himself here is you,the GCAFL which you dearly love will be a non event in QLD and NSW,how many watch the AFL now on TV in those to states not a bloody lot.
They may as well pay more for Iron Chef or old movies as they do well to,you may like preaching to the coverted in the South but I cant see viewers in Sydney Brisbane increasing, when at the moment the AFL in Syd/Bris is still propping up both clubs both clubs members and crowds are down also TV ratings.
Thats the problem with having a propagandist writing about AFL, never let the truth get in the way of a good lie from the AFL,the only good thing is they will get a nice cricket ground.
PS by the way which of out broke TV stations is going to throw all this cash at the AFL
