I am an industry enthusiast and ex- international flight attendant with several friends in various positions at Tiger airways.
What people do not seem to realise is how the Ryan air model works which Tiger is using (Ryan air being the UK low cost carrier who is a stake holder in the Tiger group)
The Tiger operation is run far leaner than Jetstar* ever could be.
And yes this includes not having spralling call centres, floors of lavish city offices and over staffing at airports and everywhere in between.
The model is very clever and could be adapted to any large business.
It"s not nor will it be about supplying the type of ground customer service of the leading Australian airlines.
One thing I am certain of is that this country cannot support seat capacity of this current nature let alone what"s coming mid year on the MEL- SYD route.
Someone will go... it"s a case of when.
The smell will not be Tiger toast.

The traffic statistics are for actual Jetstar flights. Be assured, if you are in the Jetstar cabin you not be in any doubt that it could actually be Qantas. Of course if Qantas were to go one step further, and lay on its special 'get Tiger' Jetstar flighs and fares in a Qantas jet, then Tiger would be toast, not to mention their contribution to the P & L section of the next Qantas accounts.
