Perhaps Prime Minister Rudd, an erstwhile Qld farmer may like to take an interest in this. Here we are in Australia merrily ridding ourselves of food producing land in favour of king coal. I thought the whole idea of the urgency in the climate change debate was to rid ourselves of our dependence on fossil fuels. Not so in NSW or Canberra it seems. <br />Anna Bligh is also fixed on opening new coal mines in Queensland at the expense of fertile land. I guess the recent floods,bushfires ,cyclone and oil spill have been relegated to the dim distant past in voters' minds as far as the political class is concerned.
