The Libs have a major problem. My figures suggest that no one in the Liberal Party leadership , or pretender Costello for that matter, is trusted to anywhere near the degree of Rudd, Gillard or even Peter Garrett. So it really doesn’t matter whether it’s Turnbull or Costello. Both have failed to convince the people that they can be believed and until someone in the Libs does, the leader is destined to trudge out into that lonely courtyard every day wondering what the heck they can do. Well what they can do is work out whether they are Liberals of the stature described by Julie Bishop in her Sydney Institute speech or merely some derivative Labor faction.
