Funded by raffles and sausage sizzles the locals regularly front the Land & Environment Court to fight a tier of government that supposedly represents them. Even after ICAC sacked the former council for its developer-friendly approach the administration (that included Lucy Turnbull) rubber-stamped such projects as 280-plus units in three-storey developments, housing estates and resumption of wetlands all located on finite and fragile ocean and estuary shores. Take a look at the area the Iemma Government green-lighted for a massive over-50's resort now underway and the photos of flood plains 4-metres under in a heavy rain event now being prepared for a housing estate. Lot 156! Governments and organisations ask communities to protect the environment as they trash it.
