Thanks Bob for the article but try some originality in your thematics next time:

Published the week before- Silence of the Greens - or - Spilling the Beans on the Greens
http://news.rosettamoon.com/?p=228

While Ranns secrecy regarding this is of interest, I am astonished that the current secrecy around the Olympic Mine expansion is still outside of the media radar - Mark Parnell is obsessed with the sharemarket scam at Arkaroola Sanctuary , letting the Roxby expansion conveniently go through to the keeper.

The silence of Rann is important, but the silence of the greens is more so and the impact on the lives of all Australians far greater than this poorly judged gift to a cyclist.

We are at a very low ebb in politics it seems, both state and federally.
Ah the old "commercial in confidence" line, first popularised I think by Peter Beattie when he wanted to hide the money trail. I prefer to call it "corrupt in company"

Mike Crook

Yes it is funny about that, I was in Adelaide to see one of the greatest sportsmen of our time doing his thing.
Being an ex Adeladian (lived there for 20 years) I went there in 2006 to visit the TDU & to do a ittle bit of racing myself in some of the Vets races. This year I went again to see one of the greatest sportsmen of our time. If I did not go this time I could only do it by spending my hard earned in some other economy other than an Australian one.
I was totally surprised at the amount of extra people that were in attendence for the great sportsmans trip to OZ. Now if an extra 50,000 people went there & spent $200 a day? forgive my maths but I think Premier Rann made any extraordinarily good deal. My guess is that it was more like 100,000 extra people.
Good deals like this are hard to come by in the current economic climate, I would say that all the SA traders should thank him very much.
Probably a better deal than they did with their purchase of the grand prix, I wonder if the Vic gov't would like to unload that growing burden just at the moment.
Not very often a socialist gets it right.
I met a lot of people, a huge amount of cyclists (yes they are people too) who were very, very impressed with old Adelaide & a lot of locals who were proud of what they were offering their hordes of tourists.

Again well done Premier Rann
