Funny isn't it how the conservative pro business commentariat are market ideologues but when the market in the form of higher insurance premiums and actuarial studies by Swiss Re and Munich Re etc for the global reinsurance industry effectively tell us - climate change is sending us broke due to increased extreme weather events - then these Dolts are suddenly 3 wise monkeys. Hear no evil. Speak no evil. See no evil.

Pathetic isn't it. By the way what was the trend line on rainfall patterns in the bushfire affected areas in Victoria. Not the daily temperature extremes as Dolt Simon Benson rabbited on about today in the Sydney Daily Telegraph.

My bet the rainfall figures on a trend line were probably trending down. That would climate effect. And without good moisture levels - the ground litter doesn't break down into topsoil - just like a garden composter with too much straw not enough wet green stuff. Therein we have the synthesis of climate and bushfire fuel load.

That's what I mean about not many people having actually been in a moist old growth forest - now only about 10% of the remaining disturbed forest estate. The soil there is deep and wet and springy and eats ground litter pretty damn fast with fungi and mosses. It's a beautiful thing. Cool and high humidity.

Too bad it's all on the way out.
