"Woolloomooloo is an exclusive harbour-side suburb" - sure, but it also hosts a few blocks of public housing and the Matthew Talbot Hostel.

The median of a $1million waterfront property and a $150,00 bed-sit is not much more than half a million - and about as misleading as statistics can be.
Woolloomooloo is not the exclusive haven many would think -once you move away from the water there are plenty of units selling for less than $300k. Renters love the area because it is so close to everything and investors are mostly targeting this more affordable housing stock. As the urban renewal continues and demographic mix improves this areas will become all the more popular.
