I find it disconcerting that the government is free of its most intense scrutineer for two months of every year.<br /><br />Unfortunately, it's a budget issue. Investigative journalism is expensive, and if the ABC is going to do meaningful programs each week under the current budget then the extended holiday is a must. To screen these programs every week would be to water down the scope and quality of each individual episode, which I feel would be much worse.<br /><br />Good luck with the internship. I'm a final year uni student determined to eke some living out of journalism, though god knows how with so many jobs being slashed.
