The clouds of dust are there to cover the fact that it is very hard to draw trains having sex. And yes, this is somewhat of an homage to Mr Adam’s rooting trams. Glad to see you are paying attention. I do not know what trams eat.

The great trains died for lack of exercise in NSW. After Mr Costa cut the tracks at Casino (he thought it was a gaming town like Las Vegas but its taxless) they went rusty like the stations so all the wheels fell off and the towns they visited creaked to a standstill. After no one visited anymore the weeds and wildflowers grew over the old buildings. The climate hasn’t changed just the atmosphere.

I think it was Phillip Adams who says that he remembers seeing a massive piece of graffiti somewhere in Melbourne, a tribute to the old-style trams: “The Great Green Beasts are Copulating!”
Nice seagull reference.

Wow FD. It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad.
Where’s thrill of boarding the Spirit of Progress gone? Or getting marooned on the Ghan for a week as the floods raged by.
I guess we’ll just have to shoot a few more 4 wheel drives and make sure to put out a bowl of water for what’s left of the passing tram population. BTW What do trams eat? Do you think they’d like a well toasted Andrew Bolt?

Nice story FD. I like the aesthetic of this one too. A little bit impressionist or something. Some Monet in your genealogy?
