I posted some stuff out of Mad magazine latest Feb 09 edition via the local library copy. Funny graphics of Obama. Didn’t get some of the US culture jokes but like the sheer brazen-ness of it in the face of the universal hallowed solemnity.

No-one cares too much about the racial issue except to be happy it has finally happened, and happened to the right person. There is a feeling of hope in the streets; everyone knows the inauguration is a major event, and everyone who can get to Washington for it is going, right down to my grocery packer at the local Harvest Coop in Jamaica Plain, who has relatives there. “Radical because it is rational”. Exactly. That’s what everyone I know here in Boston understands and is looking forward to.
