Um, Dave...Satyam lost their contract with the world bank because they HACKED them. In case you missed the news story a few months back, Satyam had keylogged worldbank computers and that's why they were duly dumped by the World Bank (not that I have any sympathy for the World Bank either).

Anyone with half a brain-cell should have known something was very wrong at Satyam at that point in time, so all those investors who lost their arses in this final fraudulent turn of events deserve everything they get. Fools and their money.

I am just waiting for more stories like this to come out of India and elsewhere. As the deflating swamps of the world get drained of cash, all the liars, crooks and cheats are being exposed.
With icebergs of evidence that our global banking and financial sectors are in total meltdown surely we need to hear about the salvage operations.

I would be happy to sign a petition for the government to force banks to disclose where the work was being done. It is also an issue of truth in advertising.

“The only way the bank can absolutely sure that processes are done properly and that customers' banking details are looked after properly is when the work is done by bank employees in Australia."

Why does it have to be done in Australia? Yes, outsourcing is dangerous from this point of view, but what would be wrong with NAB establishing a software development centre of excellence in Bangalore? Sure, it wouldn't give us Aussies any jobs, but it'd be just as safe for "customers' banking details".
