Quite frankly, I think Thornley just woke up to the B.S. and insidious faction fighting over Ministries. It must surely have been an eye opening fo him.

This was a cracking story from over the break, to be sure.

How about this theory suggestive Thornley want to help redraw geo politks with cars that don't use oil?

* Thornley likes to be in the vanguard of global change stuff like Looksmart web search engines fore runner to revolutionary Google, mid 90ies in the USA.
* Thornley seeds Get Up which helps Rudd over the line and ratify Kyoto.
* Obama coming in wants to 'reduce reliance on foreign oil'.
* Rahm Emmanuel sometimes accused of working for Israel is Obama's 2IC.
* That solar conference in Sydney late November in Sydney talked about Obama's $50 Billion (or was that $150 Billion over longer period) on renewable energy initiatives.
* To state the obvious - electric cars don't run on oil. And guess who makes lots of oil from a place in the news alot this last 2 weeks. Again to state the obvious - the Middle East.

Does Thornley think he will part of the global solutions again just he was forefront of internet search engines at Looksmart? Did Obama and the geo politik of the Middle East push him over the edge to jump out of Vic politics?

This is what happens when Labor insists in dropping 'celebrities' into politics, they just don't have the ticker. But then, for Labor it is always a battle to getting anything other than union into its ranks, so it needs to look outside the box every so often. Who was the last 'celebrity' to make a real contribution? Maxine McKew, Peter Garret, Kirsty Marshall or Mary Delehunty - can't think of anything any of them have done except attract a few votes while distracting people from the issues. Wonder who is next?
