The killing of 500+ palestinian civilians in recent days ranks alongside the massacre of 110 Palestinians in the village of Deir Yassin in April 1948 by Jewish paramilitary. Future PM Menachem Begin lauded the murderers saying " God Thou has chosen us for conquest".<br />The subsequent ethnic cleansing of the palestinian people - overseen by the Western powers - was the evident preliminary to the formation of Israel the next month.
