In the interests of political balance, I also once heard the tale of a young ALP staffer in Fed Parliament who was sacked for taking a com-car to a brothel. The lesson is get out of the car next door to the brothel, not in front of it. I heard the guy was lined up for a preselection and everything, so that was an expensive root.

Not much has changed in the last decade. I asked a former student pollie a couple of years ago which NUS conference was the one when a room of young Libs left a pile of human poo in a washing machine. “I’m pretty sure it’s all of them” my mate replied.
