All credit to the Rudd government for a pretty spectacular performance in a year of hopeless global turmoil. Twelve years in opposition with a new leader and a virtual team of novices it has steered a steady reliable course while the hubristic Liberals fell apart. The Minchins, Costellos, Abbotts etc ought to pack their bags and leave politics simply for wasting a vital 12-months in national and party terms so focussed on themselves they forgot the country and what they're there for. Its not exactly comforting to head into a recession and unchartered waters with half a working parliament. The Conservatives should get their finger out because its looking like John Howard wasn't the only one who thought he was born to rule.
