Why is Australia the only western country without a Bill of Rights?

I would be in favor of deleting the freakin’ English flag, which is an ensign anyway. Never meant to be a national flag. Then replacing it with panel one. If this doesn’t encapsulate the Australian apathy and gormless attitude towards politics, then nothing does. In just one panel you have got it. Panel one and the Southern Cross! I, and I’m not trying to butter you up, First Dog. I just happen to believe panels one and two are the work of a genius. So there.

That last panel is absolutely brilliant.

One reason why we should have a Bill of Right-the former premier of NSW Bob Carr is aginst it, claiming politicians are best to ensure our rights, not judges who may interpret the Bill. Coming from a poltiican who thought nothing of verballing accused persons before they had had their day in court in his endless Law & Order election campaigns shows why we should reject his view.

FD, I was, of course, talking about our limp-wristed flag. So beloved by the gays and the old ladies.

Of course Oz needs a Bill Of Rights. The ability any government, Labor, Liberal, Greens has is to allow,( in this case Americans), an Australian citizen to be remitted to a prison-cell in a foreign land and locked up for five years WITHOUT A TRIAL, is a national disgrace. And it took a brilliant colonel in the US army to show us the illegality with which the Howard government had acted.

    SHAME, SHAME AUSTRALIA.

Brilliant again! I’m all for the Brochuer Bill of Rights that protects pamphlets and handbills. If course you were going to get this sort of inane response FD!!

Oh a Bill of Rights! FD’s on target no doubt but which MP wants to toe such punishing lines? They’d all be rendered tyrants and dictators with the all-rights-to-MPs deal torpedoed on equality. And I guess that’s why we keep dreaming about a BoR’s. A brilliant concept unable to get off the ground in Australia because it would suffocate political agendas. Gawd its frustrating.

Marvellous! FD, if I wasn’t already knee-deep in 2009 calendars, I’d definitely buy yours.
