The Liberals are sufficiently desperate to blame anything in the interests of 'democracy' and the brittle state of their movement. They'll keep masquerading as an alternative or opposition when there is none terrified of being blamed for turning the nation into a presidential-style government. Both the ALP and the Liberals decimated the Democrats and One Nation with the Greens left to survive thanks and none to Bob Brown. Unless we're heading into a presidential system which I half suspect we are then we need alternatives to offer something better than we have now. Neither the ALP or the Liberals are an answer for a country endorsing the Westminster system. Two ordinary parties depleted of professional talent in an era demanding sophisticated governance says little about the system, the parties and the country. It's left begging for lack of interest or is it education? However you call it we’re stuck with a two-party system in Australia for the next couple of decades.
