We spent 4 years (2003-6) at Maningrida Community Education Centre, teaching students up to Year 12 level. It was not uncommon to lose internet access for weeks at a time, through lightning strikes, cyclones and human error. The other problem was blocking by the NT Education Department who, like their State colleagues, blocked many educationally useful websites. Let's hope that government internet filtering, by both Federal and Territory authorities,doesn't result in second class internet access for indigenous students. I am already forced to use Teachertube as well as Youtube to download videos that may be of interest to my former students and colleagues . Great news!
