Yes - the Territory, nor any jurisdiction does not need a Minister with this degree of vaccuity. To dismiss a Dept head who is nationally recognised for her skills and experience on nothing more than a personal whim or dislike, and then to continue down a path that has clearly created a massive void between the minister and the educators in the classroom is absolutely unacceptable.

But reality says that neither this minster nor the recalcitrant minister for Health can be disposed of, because the (also incompetent) Chief Ministr has no-one to appoint in their places. Maybe a bit of musical chairs could achieve some improvement, but I doubt it!!

To say nothing of Mr Gallacher. Another loser!!

Mr Gallacher has advised that we will not be providing a response he said, ‘We do not answer questions from bloggers on random electronic gossip sites --
He could have added: "...neither do we listen to or take notice of anyone whose opinions differ to ours."

Here is what Ms.Scrymgeour said in the Legislative Assemply a few days ago:
"This has been, as I said, a very contentious policy. People, for the first time, particularly on the ground in our remote Aboriginal communities, are having a debate about education, because it needed to come to that point where people started focusing on what was important in children's education. Talking to schools, Aboriginal teachers, linguists and everyone in the schools, there is one side to this debate and then there is the broader community....

"...for the first time...having a debate..."? Where was she these last few decades?
And then she proceeds to dismiss anyone that might know how education works as "...one side of this debate..."
I agree, she is not fit to be the Minister for Education.

The Minister seems to have lost the plot and also the support of aboriginal communities who want the bilingual programme in their community. Maybe it is time for her to move to another portfolio in the NT governemnt so as to bring a new approach to this very inportant issue for aboriginal communities & Australia as a whole. Maybe she needs the same treatment that the departmental head got - loss of confidence in her ability to do the job ??
