Which is probably why more and more people are turning to the internet to get a broader choice of programming currently being denied them by FTA Television.
The UK model is not without its hiccups but the consumer has much greater choice without being schackled to subscription television and that can only be a plus for television.
They should be concentrating on keeping people engaged with television or else they face the likelyhood of loosing them to other entertainment options.

Greedy greedy greedy, The free to air TV stations are really choking the golden goose. If they believe the self promotion for digital TV is not going to alientate viewers if it is to be added to the amount of commercial content we must already endure.
I sent a fax to Channel 10 last week asking for a comment on the the fact they had 22minutes of commercials and 36minutes of programme in thier one hour ice truckers programme on Friday night . I asked did they consider this to be the optimum veiwing/business model. I am yet to have a reply! In my opinion the volume of adverts totally destroyed the continuty of the show and as for most of the commerical breaks, I channel flicked to other stations, to avoid the commercial bombardment.
