I’m going to claim it here, and my posterity gain,
To proclaim the new “ism”, that describes the common skein.

A political landscape that centrist be, beige the colour on their heart’s sleeve
But isn’t that what we’ve tried to achieve, since the millions fled to be free.

Renovation television, urban renewal masochism
Grab your handful of sand, come and join the bland

The early birds are full of worms, made their pile on happy terms.
But the biggest player, the common payer, Is left with the dud returns.

The “Aussie dream” was the machine, and it ground its gears and cogs,
While the upside was on the plus side, and we bought designer dogs.

But if you eat three times a day, and send your kids to school,
You know you landed well, when God said, ”out the pool”.

If your family know where you are, and when they’ll see you next,
If all your immediate fears can be cured by a loved ones’text

The rule of Law, the freedoms from, and for most the chance to thrive,
Have made me glad, with all the bad, to be an Aussie and alive
